Colt 2nd Gen Model 1860 Army Revolver made by Colt from 1978-1982. In 1982, Colt made a short run of this model in Stainless Steel with a total of 1,596 units with 150 of that number used to make a John Mosby Commemorative around 1989. This one is in the 212,600s range which was right at the end of the 2nd Generation run (212,835). The 2nd Generation serial numbers were continued from where the original 1st Generation 1860 Colt ended in 1873 around 200,500. One interesting bit of info is that it's my understanding that the "S" at the end of the serial number stood for "Stainless". You'll note that in the photos, Colt really had to cram to get the 6-digit number and the suffix to fit on the trigger guard, frame, and barrel. Overall Condition is NRA Antique Excellent Plus and appears to be unfired. Nice fitting original walnut grips, great screws, and superb cylinder scene that very closely mimics the original. Black Powder is messy stuff and stainless makes things much easier to clean.
