This is a very strong example of Civil War vintage U.S. Navy Whitney Plymouth rifle. It has a  34" barrel, .69 Caliber, 2 barrel bands, and adjustable rear sight.  Overall, its in NRA Antique Excellent Condition with the metal retaining nearly all of its bright original polish. The wood shows only minor handling marks with strong cartouche opposite the lock.  Lock is the 2nd style with the smaller Eagle motif over "U.S." and dated "1864" behind the hammer. The bore is brilliant and shiny. Excellent mechanics.  A scarce original Collins Brass Handled Sword Bayonet is also available and fits this rifle perfectly.
