Standard Model 1 1/2. This is the second issue with the more stream-lined look featuring birds head grip, fluted cylinder, and round barrel. Barrel measures 3 1/2". 5 shot cylinder in .32 Rimfire. This was the final version of the .32 caliber RF tip-up S&W before they switched over to the top-break frame. 1 1/2's were built from 1865-68 for the first issue with its improved 2nd issue manufactured from 1868-1875. SN# is in the 100,000 range. Overall, NRA Antique Excellent condition. 95% original nickel plating that has turned to an attractive frosted appearance from being untouched for many years (will shine back up with just a little rubbing if desired). The nickel is almost all there with a minor spots of flaking primarily the cylinder and ejector pin. Case colors on hammer are mottled and turning to a brown patina. Excellent markings and edges throughout with 1855, 59, and 65 Patent dates atop the barrel rib. Dark rosewood grips are in VG+ condition with traces of varnish. Perfect fit to the metal with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Barrel to frame lock-up is perfect with absolutely zero play or wobble. Very good action and bore has good rifling with some scattered pits. A nice clean example of an early Frontier-era S&W revolver.
