This is a nice Minty example of the S&W 1-1/2 Top Break Single Action revolver in .32 S&W Caliber. 5 shot cylinder with automatic ejectors and 3" barrel. Standard Nickel Finish with Hard Rubber grips. Smith and Wesson built nearly 100,000 of this model from 1878-1892. This one is in the 23,000 range and dates to Circa late 1870's to early 1880's. The barrel has tiny patent dates that running from 1865-1877.
Overall condition is NRA Antique Excellent Plus with 98% original nickel plating. The nickel plate only shows the slightest loss due to wear that is mainly confined to most extreme edges and corners in just a few places with no rust or bubbling. However, there are some scratches in the nickel, and small chatter marks probably from rubbing against something inside a desk drawer. Crisp markings and edges. The hammer retains nearly all of its original case colors which are still vivid and bright. Latch, trigger and trigger show nearly all their original blue finish. The hard rubber grips are in excellent shape with the S&W monogram on each side, perfect checkering and metal fit. No, chips, cracks, or repairs. Barrel to frame lockup is perfect with zero play or wiggle. The action works perfectly with including the ejectors. The bore is nearly perfect with shiny lands and grooves some spots that are frosty from improper cleaning. This revolver was probably not fired more than a few times. Nice example and suitable for a factory box or case.
