Smith and Wesson 32 DA 2nd Model Revolver w/ Original Box

A nice early Double Action S&W in .32 caliber...this one is a 2nd Model, which were only made from 1880 to 1882. 3-1/2" with standard nickel finish and checkered hard rubber grips. As a bonus, this S&W will come with a correct original S&W cardboard box. Condition of the box is poor and in pieces but 90% complete. Box has the correct end label for a .32 Double Action, nickel, with 3-1/2" barrel. Serial number of this revolver is in the 16,000 range with patent dates up to 1880. Being a 2nd Model (S&W only made thirty units of the 1st Model), it has the oval side plate, the double stop notches with short flutes on the cylinder, and a non-webbed trigger. Overall condition grades to NRA Antique Excellent with 90% original nickel plating with some patches of nickel towards the rear of the frame that are beginning to bubble. Hammer and trigger have most of their original case colors. Trigger guard and barrel catch have 70% thinning original blue. The action cycles and indexes properly on Double Action mode. Single Action Mode works well as long as the hammer is fully extended to catch on full cock. Hinge is tight with no wobble. Excellent bore! Hard rubber grips are in perfect shape. A nice early 2nd Model with an original box that if mended, should increase the value of the pair significantly.
