Smith and Wesson Double Action Pocket Revolver in .38 Caliber with Mother of Pearl Grips. Serial Number is in the 304,000 range (4th Model) making it antique Pre-1898 production. NRA Antique Very Good Condition. Barrel is 4" which is a little longer than standard and less common. The metal is mostly a nice smooth grey patina with traces of original nickel plating in recessed areas, under the barrel rib and inside the frame. Latch and trigger guard retain about half of their original blued finish with traces of original case colors on the hammer and trigger. Pearl grips are solid and nice with no cracks or signs of significant damage aside from one small, thin fleck chipped out on right grip next to frame. Action still works in double and single action. Bore is good. Nice example of a 19th century Smith and Wesson Collectible Antique Revolver.
