Sharps 4-Shot Pepperbox Pistol

Sharps Pepperbox Derringer in .22 Caliber. Flayderman's Guide identifies this variant as a Model 1C with brass frame, round grip, and barrel release located on the front underside of the frame. Serial number is in the 6300 range.  Left side of frame marked "C. Sharps Patent 1859.  Right side marked "C. Sharps & Co. Philada. PA".

Overall, NRA Antique Fine condition with over 90% original silver plate remaining on frame.  Barrels have turned mostly grey with blue down in the flutes and protected areas...balance is smooth silvery gray metal except for a few small areas of light pitting that have been cleaned up.  Nice solid grips with about 20% original varnish remaining. Perfect wood to metal fit...show verys little wear on the edges. No chips or cracks.  Nice mechanics...barrel fits up tight to frame and the rotating firing pin works perfect every time.  Bores have good rifling with typical scattered pits you'd expect to find on early black powder era weapons.  A very respectable example of an early Sharps Pepper box.
