Whitney .36 Caliber Percussion revolver with 7 1/2" octagon barrel. Barrel marked "E. Whitney New Haven". It looks like this one was issued to the US Army during the Civil War as it is martially marked with inspector initials on various parts along with a faint cartouche on the bottom of the left grip. Serial number is in the 13,000 range with all matching numbers.
Overall condition is NRA Antique Good+. The metal has been cleaned but looks good with with a few light scattered pits on the cylinder and loading lever. Very good 2 piece walnut grips with nice wood to metal fit. Strong mechanics and a good+ bore. A scarce and desirable US purchased Civil War revolver.
