Dixon & Sons Bag Flask for Colt Pocket Revolver


This is a nice bag flask by James Dixon & Sons of Sheffield, England. These are often found accompanying cased Colt Model 1849 Revolvers produced at Samuel Colt's London factory from 1853-57. Very Good+ Condition with original measuring spout, spring, and lanyard ring intact. Graduations are in drams at 3/8, 4/8, and 5/8 gradations. There are a few small dings in the body of the copper flask but nothing big. Seams are tight with no splits. The spout spring even has most of its original blue remaining. From top (tip of spout in closed position) to bottom (tip of the roundel holding lanyard ring) measures 5.38". Widest part of body width: 1.63". Thickness part of body: 1.08". Diameter of brass cap: 1.16".
