Early second Model 1873 rifle in Caliber 44-40.  Special order single set trigger, 24" round barrel, full magazine, and crescent buttplate.  Serial number is in the 33,000 range...one of the first couple thousand second models built with the improved 2nd Model dust cover that has the scarce early style checkered thumbprint.  This style dust cover was used only on the first 4-5000 second models before Winchester discarded the laborious checkering pattern in favor of a simpler and less time-consuming design with serrated edges.   More coming soon!
