Winchester 1892 Semi-Deluxe Takedown Rifle

Here is a scarce example of an 1892 Semi-Deluxe rifle loaded with some great features.  The 1892 is probably one of the toughest lever action models to find with special order features especially with antique serial numbers.  This particular rifle is in the 99,000 serial range and was built in the year 1895 with the following features: Pistol Grip Stock, Checkered wood, 1/2 magazine, takedown frame, rare long range Vernier tang sight, and globe front sight.  The Caliber is 32 WCF aka 32-20.  Overall condition is NRA antique Excellent with 90% receiver blue with some blue loss on the top corner of the left side of the receiver and bolt...the belly of the frame still has all of its original blue.  Loading port still shows 95+% original fire blue. Hammer retains 70% orig. case colors while the lever shows 25% mostly towards the top near the frame.  The barrel and tube have 95+% original blue remaining.  Sights are all intact and show no damage which include the standard Winchester semi-buckhorn rear and the aforementioned long rang tang sight set-up.  The wood is in excellent condition with good checkering in the simple type I pattern.  Pistol grip base has the original gutta percha Winchester marked cap with engraved retaining screw.  Overall, wood to metal fit is perfect with nearly all the original varnish on the stock and 70% on the forend.  Takedown feature is still tight with no play or wiggle between the frame and barrel.  Takedown lever has the June 6, 1893 patent date.  Overall, a very nice antique 1892 with some very scarce special order features.
